Data centers are often the unsung hero behind many successful organisations. They stoically provide the robust and reliable mission critical infrastructure which is essential for continuous service delivery. As an industry, we quite rightly work hard to maximise uptime and minimise downtime. But whilst the temptation might be to make these important decisions purely at a theoretical level or to be influenced by a ‘tick box’ approach to specification or selection, the real solution is to dig a little deeper into the engineering and focus on the lessons that can be learned from the practical reality of running a data hall.
Global ISP Strengthens Zenium’s Ecosystem at Frankfurt One
Cogent Communications’ decision to open a Point-of-Presence (PoP) in Zenium’s Frankfurt data center focuses on expanding the availability of its next generation network infrastructure in close proximity to enterprise customer sites.
Zenium’s Frankfurt One data center operation has been developed around its long-term business strategy to support densely populated cities. Cogent’s decision to extend its network in Frankfurt was in part due to the international standards and carrier neutral environment that Zenium offers, which Cogent considers critical in supporting its multinational customers.
Franek Sodzawiczny, Founder and CEO at Zenium said: “We strive to offer the best in our data center facilities from both a build perspective and ongoing operational practices. The ecosystem we are creating as a result is unique as existing customers also benefit from the enhanced connectivity that new Internet Service Provider clients bring. Businesses are choosing to partner with us as a result of this dynamic and evolving environment.”
